Fender welting, rubber body bushings, window and door garnish trim was replaced. New rubber floor mat and shifter boots. The original rubber was hard and brittle.
There is a small dent on the driver's side forward fender that we specifically chose not to repair. We'd rather have an original dent than Bondo and new paint.
Fully operational dump bed. Was originally for hauling grain. A steel tube and canvas canopy was recently added to improve its value as a movie prop and/or parade float to carry passengers.
This 1947 Chevy Loadmaster was used a couple of weeks per harvest season, then stored in a barn till next season. We purchased it from the original owners in western Nebraska. Retired in the 1980's, it spent its entire life on a farm and was only used to haul grain from the farm to the co-op in town. It was cared for like part of the family, but as a working truck, it does have a few dings, and minor dents that you would expect. All original glass, and it's powered by the optional 235 ci 6 Cylin
As shown in the photo above, there is basically NO RUST, no hidden repairs, and the cab is in excellent shape. We did not want to repair or paint over original body.
As well, the passenger's side shows a minuscule amount of surface rust toward the inside door frame.
Slight surface rust, but otherwise in pristine shape. The hydraulic pump works well and sounds great. Hand controls located in cab.
Original Grill with original pin-striping. The Forest Green paint is in very good condition. With a little wax it will shine like a gem. All chrome elements are in great shape too.
All mechanicals like the door and hood hinges are in great shape and working well. The sound of the hood closing is sweet to the ear.
Straight Six Cylinder 235 ci, 1bbl, 180tq, turning a heavy duty 4 speed transmission with a Granny Gear, PTO and a two speed rear. Has the original hydro-boost braking system. Plus, new brakes and wheel bearings.
The canopy cover enhances the aesthetic appeal of the truck, adding to its vintage charm and character. The bows are easily removable and storable. The height of the truck without the bows is approximately 6' 10" - making it an ideal height for most garages.
